Barrel fermented and aged for 12 months in mainly French oak barriques (larger than a standard barrel). This medium-bodied wine has refreshing fruit flavours of lemon and green apple complemented by notes of oak, cloves and biscuit. The freshness continues on the finish with notes of lemon and spicy toasty oak.

Serve not overly chilled at 12 to 14ºC to appreciate the full flavours. Enjoy with battered fish fillets; lemon chicken; creamy lemon risottos; creamy pasta tossed with seafood; poached salmon with dill sauce; grilled salmon burgers; and buttermilk fried chicken.

We were visiting (from Australia) and when having dinner at Romanos in Niagara Falls were delighted that they were featuring local Niagara wines. We chose the Peller Private Reserve Chardonnay on a whim (we knew nothing of Niagara wines but quite a lot about the noble white grape of Burgundy). The Peller wine was outstanding, with great complexity and length, wonderful fruit and just a hint of wood. The mouth feel matched some of the best Chardonnays we have ever tried. We liked it immensely and if we lived locally would be regulars at the cellar door. Well done Peller Estates!
