VQA Four Mile Creek

 

Harvested both from estate owned vineyards and from our long-standing growers within the Four Mile Creek appellation of Niagara-on-the-Lake, this wine was aged for 12 months in 60% American and 40% French oak barrels with full malolactic fermentation.

 

Deep purple black colour with an amazing bouquet of black currant, blackberry, black pepper, smoke, sweet oak, leather and vanilla extract. This full-bodied red wine fills the mouth with juicy fruit-forward of currant, blackberry and blueberry. The finish lingers with notes of blackberry, sweet spice and black tea.

  

Fabulous with grilled medium rare red meats; pepper steaks with roasted garlic mashed potatoes; Avonlea Clothbound Cheddar from PEI; lamb chops; and prime rib... or just enjoy on its own as you watch the sunset.

 

Best to decant and enjoy in large bowled wine glasses to fully appreciate the bouquet.  Serve at a cool room temperature of 17 to 18ºC. Drink now through 2016.

Family and friends had this wine over the holidays paired up with grilled marinated lamb chops and kabobs, it was absolutely amazing.
