VQA Four Mile Creek
Niagara's favourite Cabernet! Harvested both from estate owned vineyards and from our long-standing growers in the Four Mile Creek appellation of Niagara-on-the-Lake. Aged for 12 months in 60% American oak and 40% French oak barrels with full malolactic fermentation.
Deep purple colour with a wonderful bouquet of currant, smoke, oak, spice, tobacco, black cherry and pepper. A medium-bodied red wine with rich flavours of currant, oak, black tea and cherry to excite the palate. The notes of juicy currants, blackberries and cherries linger on the extra dry finish.
Serve at a cool room temperature of 16 to 18ºC in large bowled red wine glasses. Decant for 2 to 3 hours before serving. Excellent with prime rib and roasted garlic mashed potatoes; beef and vegetable stews; 2 year old Canadian cheddar with walnuts and fresh crusty bread; grilled beef tenderloin with Cabernet jus and stir-fry of wild mushrooms; and steak with peppercorn sauce.
